Services for Students

As a college lecturer with great respect for the goals of higher education and for the power of the written word, the Word Angel does not copy edit term papers or any other material for which the author will receive a grade.

However, I am happy to assist students who need help getting their ideas on paper. This assistance may take the form of:

• Helping you generate ideas that both interest you and respond to the assignment at hand.
• Helping you hone those ideas into an academic argument or add sophistication to an existing argument.
• Helping you locate research materials after you choose your topic.
• Providing summary feedback on rough drafts. This involves pointing out any weaknesses in your analysis or in the structure or organization of your paper overall. 
• Identifying patterns of error in grammar and style. I do not offer one-on-one writing instruction, but I can provide you with a list of general areas of weakness that can help you make the most of your time with your instructor or private tutor. 
  

Remember, when you turn to the Word Angel as a student writer, you will be paying for guidance, not for grades. I can provide you with resources, support, and analysis, but only you can control how and whether you respond to my feedback in your final draft. Furthermore, how your instructor responds to your work is well beyond my control. For those reasons, the Word Angel can make no guarantee that the services offered and rendered will result in a passing grade or raise your grade in any way.
