Looking for Skilled Editorial Services?
Experience Matters.

There are plenty of people who can help if you just need the job done.
Call on the Word Angel when you need it done perfectly.
When it comes to choosing the right editorial professional, experience is key. You are paying for the knowledge of a professional who, presumably, is an editorial expert. But is that presumption a safe one to make? People with varying levels of experience and abilities go into the editorial field for many different reasons. Conduct a thorough search for a proofreader, and you'll encounter bright high school and college students, avid readers, teachers, and English professors; all bring a set of skills to the table.
But enjoying—and even being very good at—working with text does not necessarily imply a mastery of the craft. I have been honing my editorial skills for nearly fifteen years, and I still learn something new every day.
My unique combination of experience, training, and education makes me both a writer and a technician. I never work without all necessary reference materials at hand, and I know when to consult them and when it's safe to rely on my experience to make a call. I know when there is a "right" and "wrong" and when there's a "that depends . . . ." I know to closely examine intent when commonly-confused words such as rigor or vigor are used. I know there’s a difference between blonde and blond and between underway and under way. I know which style manuals call for serial commas and which don't, and I know the sentence structures that allow or even demand those commas even when working in a style that would otherwise omit them.
Are your eyes glazing over yet? I figured. That's why you need The Word Angel.
